0 0

Manchester United Women take on bottom-placed Liverpool in the Barclays Women’s Super League at Progress With Unity Stadium on Sunday morning.

United claimed a comfortable 4-1 victory at Aston Villa last time out, extending their unbeaten run in the competition to four matches.

Liverpool were also victorious, edging Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 to record their first league win of the campaign.

Match preview

Man United’s victory at Villa saw them climb to fourth in the standings, just one point behind Arsenal, who occupy the last Champions League qualification spot.

However, the Gunners could increase their lead to four points with a victory over Leicester City on Saturday, putting more pressure on United to beat Liverpool.

United have struggled at home this season, collecting nine points from six games. They have also won just once in their last five fixtures on their patch.

Liverpool have picked up just one point on the road this term, but will be buoyed by confidence after beating Spurs last weekend.

The Reds sit at the bottom of the standings, but are just one point adrift of safety. They are unbeaten in their last three league outings, scoring four goals and conceding twice.

Head-to-head

Across 10 meetings with Liverpool, United have won seven and lost three.

Team news

United have received a double injury boost following the return of Gabby George and Fridolina Rolfo to training. Leah Galton and Ella Toone remain on the treatment table.

Liverpool have also confirmed the return of top scorer Beata Olsson to training. However, Anna Josendal, Sam Kerr, Marie Hobinger and Sophie Roman Haug remain sidelined.

How to watch

The match will be televised on Sky Sports, while live radio commentary will be available on MUTV, ManUtd.com and the United App.
