Tottenham make shock move for £310k-per-week former Arsenal winger

0 1

Tottenham Hotspur has made a move for a former Arsenal winger, but the player has other plans for his future.

It was reported at the start of this month that signing a winger was a priority for Spurs this window and that the Lilywhites were tracking several wide players around Europe.

However, with just over three days left until the window slams shut, Thomas Frank’s men are yet to strengthen their attack.

It has now emerged that the Lilywhites have explored the possibility of signing a highly-rated winger, who has six league titles to his name.

Tottenham set to be disappointed in their pursuit of Serge Gnabry

According to an update on SportBild, Spurs have enquired about the availability of Serge Gnabry in the dying stages of the window.

The former Arsenal man’s current deal at the Allianz Arena runs out at the end of the season, but he is reportedly not keen on a move before Monday’s deadline.

The report says that Gnabry’s camp has informed Spurs that his priority is to remain at the Bavarian club. In fact, it is revealed that the winger is in talks with Bayern over a new deal and is expected to sign a two-year extension.

Spurs are also eyeing another experienced Bayern player

Gnabry is not the only Bayern player the North Londoners are exploring a deal for in the final days of the transfer window.

According to reports, Tottenham have enquired about a deal for Leon Goretzka, who is also into the final six months of his contract at the Allianz Arena.

However, getting a deal for the midfielder over the line will not be easy as Spurs are competing with both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid for Goretzka’s signature.
