Fabrizio Romano says Tottenham still have hope of signing Andy Robertson, but Wolves have not helped
Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of landing Andy Robertson are still alive, and the latest developments in the Midlands could have a bearing on the deal.
After days of heavy speculation linking the left-back with a move to N17, it emerged on Sunday that Liverpool had blocked Robertson’s move to Spurs.
However, over the last 24 hours, multiple sources have reported that the Lilywhites’ pursuit of the 31-year-old is not dead.
According to reports, Spurs can land Robertson under one condition, which is that AS Roma manage to sign a new left-back and allow Kostas Tsimikas to return to his parent club, Liverpool.
Roma making move which could allow Andy Robertson to join Tottenham
Fabrizio Romano has now reported on his YouTube channel that the Giallorossi are indeed making efforts to add another left-back to their squad.
Romano says that Roma are now turning their attention to a Wolves defender, and if they are successful, it could trigger a domino effect, with Tsimikas returning to Liverpool and Robertson moving to Spurs.
The journalist adds that the Scotland international’s proposed move to Tottenham is still ‘one to watch’ in the final days of the transfer window.
Romano says that Tottenham and Liverpool are still in contact as a deal is ‘still not considered completely off’, but the dominoes will have to line up quickly in the coming days.
Roma fail with approach for Wolves man
Romano’s information has been backed up by Lyall Thomas, who reveals on Sky Sports’ Transfer centre that the Serie A club have made an approach for Wolves’ David Moller Wolfe.
However, unfortunately for the Lilywhites, Thomas says that Roma’s opening offer of £6.9m has been turned down by the Midlands club.
Roma are not expected to return for Wolfe, with Wolves said to have no interest in cashing in on the 23-year-old, as things stand.
