Two Tottenham stars make Champions League Team of the Week, one gets 8.67/10

0 2

Two Tottenham players have now earned a spot in WhoScored Team of the Week honours after Spurs’ win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

It was a complete display from Spurs on Tuesday evening at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against Bundesliga heavyweights Borussia Dortmund.

Thomas Frank’s side stuck to their assignment and showed some much-needed togetherness, helping to ease the pressure that had been mounting on the manager over his job security.

Several players stood out for Tottenham as everyone put in solid shifts, but it was just two who have been recognised after earning spots in this week’s Team of the Week.

Two Tottenham stars named in Champions League Team of the Week

WhoScored has since taken to social media to reveal this week’s top performers in the UEFA Champions League.

Several players from different clubs were represented in a 4-4-2 formation, and this time, Spurs were included, with two players making the line-up thanks to their impressive individual performances.

Cristian Romero delivered a complete captain’s performance, leading from the front quite literally as his early goal set Tottenham on their way to victory, while he was equally commanding in his own box to ensure his side secured a clean sheet.

The Argentine was handed an 8.35 rating and was included in a back four that included Constinha, Restos, and Cafarquliyev.

Wilson Odobert continues to impress for Spurs

Wilson Odobert also received recognition in the WhoScored Team of the Week, with the young forward named at right midfield.

Tuesday’s outing was certainly one of the teenager’s best performances in a Tottenham shirt, as he was sensational on the right-hand side throughout the contest.

With Mohammed Kudus out injured, Odobert has been shifted to the right to fill the gap, and against Dortmund, the France Under-21 international showcased his direct wing play, grabbing an assist and earning an 8.67 rating, a few points higher than Romero’s 8.35 score.
