Report Romagnoli approached by Mancini and Al-Sadd
Transfer pundit Alfredo Pedullà reports that former Italy coach Roberto Mancini spoke directly to Lazio defender Alessio Romagnoli about a proposal from Al-Sadd.
The tactician is eager to pack his squad with talent from Serie A and believes that Romagnoli could be available considering the situation in flux at the Stadio Olimpico.
Interest in the player, who celebrated his 31st birthday today, is stepping up and his contract is due to expire in June 2027.
Romagnoli targeted by Al-Sadd
Negotiations for a new deal have hit a brick wall for months and if a big offer were to arrive, then Lazio probably wouldn’t stand in his way.
It remains to be seen if the player wants to go to Qatar at this stage of his career, which is why Mancini is trying to convince him directly.
The main problem is that Romagnoli was born and raised a Lazio supporter, so would need strong motivation to walk away from his beloved club.
