Revealed: Tottenham have “extraordinary plans” to hire big-name Thomas Frank replacement
Tottenham reportedly have “extraordinary” plans in place to try to bring former manager Mauricio Pochettino back to the club to replace Thomas Frank.
Pochettino, currently in charge of the United States Men’s national team, is undoubtedly Tottenham’s most successful manager of recent times.
The Argentine turned Spurs into serious title contenders and regulars in the top four during his five years in charge between 2014 and 2019.
Since then, Pochettino has also won trophies at Paris Saint-Germain, and did a decent job during a spell back in the Premier League with Chelsea.
Is Mauricio Pochettino the answer to Tottenham’s troubles?
Tottenham, meanwhile, have endured some difficult moments since replacing Pochettino, with big names like Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte giving the job a go, but ultimately struggling.
Ange Postecoglou won the Europa League last season, ending the club’s long wait for silverware, though the team also finished 17th in the Premier League table, leading to the Australian tactician being sacked.
Thomas Frank then took over this summer, but hasn’t made the most convincing start, with the side in mid-table and attracting fan criticism for playing fairly bland football.
Bringing Pochettino back could well be the best solution for Spurs right now.

It will be interesting to see if Pochettino is open to coming back to Tottenham, as one imagines he might be content with his current job with the USA football team.
International football is in some ways more prestigious, and also less work on a day-to-day basis, but one imagines a second spell at Spurs could also be tempting.
The Premier League is the biggest in the world and Pochettino will surely still have a strong attachment to his former club.
