Cruzeiro are pricing West Ham United and Aston Villa target Kaio Jorge out of the market for Brazilian clubs as they aim to keep hold of him.
Since West Ham parted ways with Scottish boss David Moyes, who led them to win the Conference League, they have not been able to achieve any stability.
Last season, the London club finished 14th in the Premier League table, and that did not please the West Ham fans.
They are currently sitting third bottom in the league, and one presenter stressed that the Hammers have not shown any fight this term compared to relegation rivals Leeds United.
Aston Villa, on the other hand, are currently on a title charge, as they sit only three points behind table-toppers Arsenal.
Both clubs are expected to seek to do business in the January transfer window and Brazilian striker Kaio Jorge is a player they like.
West Ham recently held talks with Cruzeiro about potentially signing the striker and put a loan to buy offer on the table, which did not impress the Brazilians.
Fellow Premier League outfit Aston Villa are also tracking the Brazil forward, who has admirers too domestically, as Flamengo want him.
Now, in a further sign they do not want to do business, according to Brazilian journalist Andre Hernan, the Cruzeiro chiefs have set a price tag of €50m for Jorge for clubs in Brazil.
Cruzeiro want to keep hold of the former Juventus hitman and they feel that their rival clubs in Brazil cannot afford to dish out that amount of money for the on-demand attacker.
Kaio Jorge scored 26 goals and provided nine assists in 46 games for Cruzeiro in the recently concluded Brazilian Serie A, with his contract set to run for three more years.
West Ham have multiple forward targets they could go for in the winter window, as Union SG’s Canadian striker Promise David is still on their radar.
Aston Villa are also looking to bring someone to give competition to Ollie Watkins, and young prolific hitman Bendeguz Kovacs is someone they are chasing.
Despite Cruzeiro’s firm desire to keep hold of Kaio Jorge, Aston Villa or West Ham could still try to test that resolve in the January transfer window.
