Tottenham could be without 12 players for Champions League clash against Copenhagen
Tottenham Hotspur are without a full team of players for their upcoming Champions League clash against Copenhagen.
Spurs have been dealing with double-digit absentees over the last few weeks, and the situation is not much better heading into tomorrow’s clash.
Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie and Wilson Odobert returned to action against Chelsea, with all three players coming on as substitutes in the 1-0 loss on Saturday.
However, three more players have been added to the treatment table ahead of Spurs’ return to Champions League action.
The 12 players who will miss Tottenham’s clash against Copenhagen
James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, Ben Davies, Kota Takai, Yves Bissouma and Dominic Solanke are the long-term absentees and remain out of action.
Archie Gray is expected to miss around a month of football due to a calf problem, which he suffered last week.
Lucas Bergvall suffered a concussion against Chelsea and is thus set to miss the next few games, while Mohammed Kudus and Djed Spence are doubts for the Copenhagen clash due to knocks.
Radu Dragusin is back in full training but the Romanian and Mathys Tel are not part of Tottenham’s Champions League squad for the league phase, bringing the total absentees to 12 ahead of Tuesday’s clash.
Spurs’ injury situation has not received enough media limelight
Tottenham’s injury situation has not received as much attention as it deserves from the media
Most clubs will struggle when they have more than a full team of players injured, especially a new head coach who is still trying to learn about his squad and get his ideas across to the players.
Part of the reason it has gone under the radar is that Tottenham’s squad is deeper than it was last season, which means that Frank has been able to still put out relatively decent teams.
Additionally, much to the former Brentford boss’ credit, he has not used the injury situation as an excuse.
