Dartford v Sutton: match report
Match Report: Dartford FC 2-0 Sutton Utd Women FC. By Connor Brennan.
London and South East Regional Women Premier League, played on Sunday 24th August 2025.
Darts Women returned back to Princes Park looking to kick on after the opening day victory against Newhaven FC.
During the early stages of the 1st half, the home side had the better of the early chances. In the 9th minute, Mya Lewis-Powell got in behind the Sutton defence to find Leen Ekwo. The Darts striker fired an effort on goal over the Sutton crossbar.
As the first half went on, the Darts continued to have the better of the chances and went close again minutes before the break. In the 38th minute, a game of pinball inside the Suttonbox saw the ball fall to Xayla-Rae Alberts. The Darts skipper fired an effort over and we were goalless at the midway point.
The home side continued to create in the early stages of the second half and it wasn’t long before the pressure paid off. In the 54th minute, Lizzie Adams set Ellie Dolby on the edge of the box. The Darts defender sent a looping effort goal bound that flew over the keeper and into the far corner for the opening goal of the game.
The Darts doubled the lead three minutes before the hour mark. In the 57th minute, a fine effort from distance from Darts skipper, Xayla-Rae Alberts, beat the keeper and found the top corner to extend the lead for the Darts.
We continued to create chances as the half went on and went close to making it three minutes before full time. In the 93rd minute, Gabby Howell teed up Abbey Davies from a free kick 20yds from goal. The Darts defender sent a stinging effort goal bound, only for it to come back off the woodwork.

A good test for the Darts against a defensively sound Sutton Utd, but two goals early in the second half see us take all three points on our return to Princes Park. Thanks to all the fans for their support. Onto the next one!
