The truth behind Alejandro Garnacho’s push to quit Man United - report

0 27

Forward Alejandro Garnacho is keen to leave Manchester United this summer, and the club are prepared to sanction his exit.

The Argentine forward has rejected a move to German giants Bayern Munich as he prefers to join Chelsea.

However, the Club World Cup champions are unwilling to pay his £50m valuation, and United are not ready to sell for less.

The right-footed forward is ‘not scared’ to stay at Man United and remain out of the squad if he does not join Chelsea.

Journalist Gaston Edul on ‘412’ via BITBOL now reports that Garnacho is pushing to leave United to boost his chances of playing for Argentina at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Edul adds that Albiceleste’s coaching staff believe that ‘he’s missing something’ and has not proved otherwise, leading to his continuous exclusion from national team duties.

The 21-year-old has not played for Argentina since the World Cup qualifying game against Paraguay last November and has been left out of the preliminary squad for September’s qualification matches.

Lionel Scaloni’s side have abundant attacking talents, making competition for places fierce. Garnacho has to play regularly this season and impress to get a recall into the national team.

Chelsea are still negotiating with United over a deal for the 2024 Kopa Trophy nominee, but he must be ready to move elsewhere if both clubs fail to agree on a deal before the end of the transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur could be an ideal destination for Garnacho as the North London club are now exploring other options after missing out on Eberechi Eze, who is on the verge of joining Arsenal.

Spurs have been linked with the Argentine this summer and could move for him before deadline day if he relaxes his current ‘Chelsea-or-nothing’ stance.
