The kick-off was originally set for 7.45, but this was changed to 7.30 a couple of days before the match.
Wealdstone, who included former R’s Deon Woodman and Sean Adarkwa in their starting X1, created the first chance of the match in the first minute, when a shot from inside the box was blocked by a defender.
After QPR had cleared the resulting corner, Rocco Friel needed some treatment but was able to continue.
QPR’s first attempt came on six minutes when the trialist midfielder won possession outside the Wealdstone box and found Jaylan Pearman, whose low shot went past the post for a goal-kick.
Wealdstone created a chance on 11 minutes when Max Kretschmar headed a cross from captain Jack Cook, just over.
After 15 minutes Kieran Petrie, who had started at right-wing, and left-winger Jake Coomes switched positions.
Three minutes later QPR had their first attempt on target, Dixon-Bonner’s shot was saved by home ‘keeper Dante Baptiste.
Matteo Salamon made a great save on a one-on-one with Kretschmar on 27 minutes.
Wealdstone had the majority of the ball and had a couple of shots off-target before taking the lead after 37 minutes.
After winning the ball inside their own half, it was played to Micah Obeiro, whose right-footed cross reached Adarkwa, who then found the net from close range.
Before the re-start Petrie and Coomes again switched wings and a minute later Coomes’ cross from the left found Petrie, who tapped in the equaliser at the far post.
The hosts hit the post in their next attack before another cross aimed at Petrie was intercepted for a QPR corner.
On 43 minutes, Kretschmar advanced into the QPR box and squared the ball for Adarkwa, who netted his second of the night.
Seconds into the second-half, Wealdstone substitute Sak Hassan made an instant impact when his low cross found Adarkwa. Salamon parried the close range shot but could not stop the ball from slowly rolling over the line.
Wealdstone were now in control and created more chances before both teams made a number of substitutions just after the hour mark.
Adarkwa scored his fourth goal on 65 minutes when he placed the ball into Salamon’s right-hand corner from ten yards following a low cross.
Dixon-Bonner fired wide on 70 minutes after a rare QPR attack.
The hosts made it five on 76 minutes. After Salamon had blocked a shot from close range, a Wealdstone trialist, who had replaced Adarkwa minutes earlier, reached fastest and put the rebound into the back of the net.
Two minutes later it was six when another cross found its way into the box. The ball wasn’t cleared and a trialist then shot into the corner of the net.
Rangers created a couple of chances during the final minutes of the match and after good build-up play between Dixon-Bonner and the trialist right-back, the ball was played to substitute Cian Dillon, who placed the ball past the opposition substitute goalkeeper on 84 minutes.
Dillon had a chance to get a second goal minutes later but this time the trialist ‘keeper, who had come on for the second-half, made a great stop with his legs.
Referee Jason Richardson blew for full-time shortly after to put an end to a miserable night for QPR.
Just over 600 attended the match and among those were Daniel Bennie, Kieran Morgan, Alfie Tuck, Alfie Lloyd and new signing Tylon Smith.
