Milinkovic-Savic arrives for medical ahead of Napoli move
Vanja Milinkovic-Savic has arrived in Rome at the Villa Stuart clinic for the medical ahead of his move from Torino to Napoli.
Yesterday, we covered reports confirming that an agreement had been reached between all parties for the transfer and now the Serbian goalkeeper looks set to complete his move to Antonio Conte’s side, pending today’s medical test.
The deal looks to be a loan with an obligation to buy the player for €21.5 million, above the player’s release clause. However, the Neapolitan side preferred to defer the payment, with the loan solution deemed the most viable in line with the club’s summer transfer plans.
Napoli beat Leeds to secure target Milinkovic-Savic
Napoli were not the only club interested in signing the towering shot-stopper, with newly promoted Premier League side Leeds United also chasing the 28-year-old. However, the allure of playing in the Champions League and for the Italian champions was too much to resist for the Spain-born goalkeeper.
Milinkovic-Savic becomes the latest on a list of strong acquisitions for Napoli this summer, after Conte’s side added the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Lorenzo Lucca, Sam Beukema and Noa Lang to their ranks.
