Seagulls star opts fo Serie A switch

0 4

AC Milan have officially announced the signing of Pervis Estupinan from Brighton and Hove Albion. The Ecuadorean has moved for a reported 17-million-pound fee and has inked a five-year deal with the Rossoneri. He is expected to fill the void left by Theo Hernandez’s departure from the San Siro.

Estupinan joined Brighton from Spanish side Villarreal in 2022 and made over 100 appearances during his stint on the South Coast. Brighton were his first major English team- he had previously signed for Watford but left the Hornets without making a single first-team appearance for them.

Brighton had signed Maxim de Cuyper earlier this summer window and the Belgian is expected to widely be Estupinan’s replacement at left back, although some reckon the former’s defense requires some improvement. The Seagulls also have Ferdi Kadioglu in their ranks.

Estupinan is the third first team regular to leave Brighton in the current window following the previous departures of Joao Pedro to Chelsea and Simon Adingra to Sunderland.

The Seagulls finished 8th in the previous 24/25 season under manager Fabian Hurzeler. They will start the new Premier League season at home to Fulham followed by a trip to Goodison Park to take on Everton.
