Patriots Reportedly Bring In Decorated Defender For Workout
The New England Patriots hosted versatile defensive back Kedrick Whitehead for a workout on Friday, according to PFN’s James Larsen.
Who?
Whitehead, 25, might not be a name you’re familiar with, but he’s drawing lots of attention after a standout season for the Michigan Panthers of the UFL. Whitehead not only earned a place on the All-UFL Team, but he was named Special Teams Player of the Year in 2025 — which likely is the reason for his appearance in Foxboro, Mass.
The Patriots silently put together a deep group of special teams hopefuls this offseason, bringing in young defensive backs (Brandon Crossley, Jordan Polk, Josh Minkins) and wide receivers (Demeer Blankumsee, Jeremiah Webb) who likely will earn a spot through the third phase.
Whitehead, who previously spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, could very well become the next. New England’s roster is currently capped, though, which means there would need to be a corresponding roster move made in order to bring him aboard.
