Nottingham Forest star makes Morgan Gibbs-White admission amid Tottenham saga
Nottingham Forest star Ola Aina has made an admission about Morgan Gibbs-White’s conduct as the midfielder waits for his move to Tottenham Hotspur to go through.
Spurs Web has relayed over the last few days that Tottenham believe their activation of Morgan Gibbs-White’s £60m clause is legitimate, and they expect the deal to go through.
Some sources have suggested that Nottingham Forest may simply be buying time to secure a replacement for Gibbs-White.
However, Gibbs-White featured for Nuno Espirito Santo’s men in their first pre-season friendly of the summer against Monaco on Saturday.
Ola Aina asked about the Morgan Gibbs-White situation
Forest played out a 0-0 draw with the Ligue 1 side at the City Ground yesterday, and after the final whistle, full-back Ola Aina was asked about the England international’s situation.
The 28-year-old pleaded ignorance about the state of Gibbs-White’s move to Tottenham Hotspur, but revealed that the attacking midfielder has been professional in pre-season so far.
When asked about the Gibbs-White situation, Aina told Sky Sports: “He’s keeping it professional, I don’t know the ins and outs of that.
“He was here today, playing, and he’s training, keeping fit as normal. At the end of the day, we’re all professionals – we’ve got a job to do, and that’s what Morgan is doing right now. He’s keeping it professional.”
The next 24 hours could be crucial in Gibbs-White transfer
According to reports, Monday is expected to be crucial in the Gibbs-White transfer saga, with the 25-year-old thought to want to seal a move to North London by tomorrow.
That is because Nuno Espirito Santo’s men fly out to Portugal for their pre-season training camp tomorrow.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that Tottenham want the Gibbs-White deal done within the next week, with Thomas Frank wanting the midfielder through the door before the squad flies to Asia for their pre-season tour on July 28.
