Red Sox Have Three Players Named To 2025 MLB All-Star Game

The Boston Red Sox will send three representatives to Atlanta for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game.

Garrett Crochet, Aroldis Chapman and Alex Bregman were all named as American League reserves on Sunday, all earning the honor in their first season with the organization.

Crochet, 26, earns his second consecutive selection after flashing a 2.39 ERA through his first 19 starts with Boston. Crochet made the exhibition lineup last season as a member of the Chicago White Sox, striking out one in his lone inning of work.

“As a whole, I think as a Red Sox I’ve done nothing but improve,” Crochet said following his victory over the Washington Nationals on Sunday, as seen on NESN. “… It’s an honor just to represent this organization at an event of that caliber.”

Chapman, 37, earned his eight selection with his third different team, exploding back onto the scene with a 1.25 ERA and 15 saves across 39 appearances. Chapman previously earned selections as a member of the Cincinnati Reds and New York Yankees.

“Proud to back after a few years,” Chapman said, as seen on NESN. “Proud of the work that I’ve done to get here.”

Bregman, 31, earned his third selection before the calendar even turned to June. The Red Sox watched him slash .299/.385/.553 with 11 home runs and 35 RBIs across his 51 games before going on the injured list with a quad strain back on May 23, and hope to have him return to the lineup prior to the Midsummer Classic.

Boston could have had a couple of others make the team, including catcher Carlos Narváez and outfielder Wilyer Abreu.

It’s not out of the realm of possibility that either makes the team as an injury replacement, though, so this list could grow over the next week.

San Francisco Giants designated hitter Rafael Devers, who led voting at his position prior to being traded by Boston earlier in June, did not make the cut in the National League.
