Tottenham show interest in one of the best left-backs in the Premier League
Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe has now revealed that an experienced Fulham star is on Spurs’ transfer wishlist this summer ahead of Thomas Frank’s first season in charge.
While we have seen a lot of forwards and midfielders linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur over recent weeks, there have also been suggestions that the Lilywhites are looking to strengthen at full-back.
Regular readers of Spurs Web will be aware that Tottenham have been named as one of the favourites to land Kyle Walker-Peters, who is available on a free transfer after his contract with Southampton ran out.
According to reports, Walker-Peters has signalled an intention to return to Spurs, but it has now emerged that Frank’s men also have an eye on another experienced Premier League full-back.
Tottenham are interested in Antonee Robinson
Paul O’Keefe, who regularly breaks news on the developments at Hotspur Way, has now revealed on The Inside Forward that Antonee Robinson is on Tottenham’s radar.
Robinson has emerged as one of the most consistent full-backs in the Premier League for Marco Silva’s men over the last few years, having featured as a conventional left-back and occasionally even as a left wing-back.
O’Keefe claims that Fulham are well aware that Spurs are interested in the 27-year-old, who has three years left on his deal at Craven Cottage, but nothing is advanced yet.
Why Antonee Robinson would be a smart addition for Spurs
Even though Robinson is a USA international, the Milton Keynes-born player will count as homegrown, having spent his formative years in the Everton academy.
Tottenham are looking to add homegrown numbers to their squad ahead of their return to the Champions League, and given Frank’s tactical versatility, he needs someone who can play as a wing-back as well as in a back four to compete with Destiny Udogie.
Given the vast Premier League experience that the Fulham man has under his belt, he would also not need much of a bedding-in period at N17.
