Not really copying blues I think. The Everton stadium is built, and the scale of the development is nothing like us. The Man U wouldn’t have the same scope either. The plans at Newcastle have been floated for years. Although they could fill a 70,000 stadium as things stand, the options to extend St James’ are limited by Grade 1 properties adjacent and building on Leazes Park in a historic part of the city has proved massively controversy previously. as it stands is total wishful thinking.
None of these is on the scale or similar to what is being proposed for blues. Ours is a different type of project which supposes total regeneration of a huge area of the city. It’s not that surprising that people should question how sustainable that is given the decay of large parts of our cities but I’d say we have a better shot than most given the factors in favour of development there.
