NFL ‘Considered’ Putting This 2025 Patriots Game In Primetime

Even after back-to-back abysmal seasons, the Patriots will enter the 2025 NFL season as a pretty interesting — and potentially entertaining — team.

That was reflected in New England’s latest regular-season schedule, which has a trio of primetime games slated for national coverage. And there was nearly a fourth, as NFL vice president of broadcast planning Mike North explained when asked to identify what stood out when his team put together the Patriots’ schedule.

“That’s still one of our top brands,” North told reporters, as transcribed by ESPN’s Mike Reiss. “Obviously they have a quarterback in place that they are certainly hoping will be there for a decade, and obviously a storyline with (Mike Vrabel) coming in. Looked for a minute at, ‘Does the Patriots at Titans game, Coach Vrabel returns, have to find itself in a national window?’ Considered it, didn’t lock it in and on the final version, the way it spun out, it didn’t happen to end up in one. But still, three national television games for the Patriots.”

Drake Maye and company will be in Nashville on Oct. 19 for a matinee matchup with the Titans. The Week 7 contest will mark the end of a three-game road trip for the Patriots, who will be in Buffalo on Oct. 5 and in New Orleans the following Sunday.

The battle with the Bills will be New England’s first of three primetime tilts. The Patriots will host the rival New York Jets for a “Thursday Night Football” clash in Week 11 and welcome the Giants to Gillette Stadium for a “Monday Night Football” matchup in Week 13.
