Pitch Perfect at The city Stadium

0 2

SEASON 2024-25 finished just a few days ago for Queen’s Park – but everyone is already looking forward to the 2025-26 campaign in the William Hill Championship.

Work is continuing on the surface and surroundings at The city Stadium ready for the big kick-off in July.

The first matches in the Premier Sports Cup take place on the weekend of July 12/13 and groundsman William Watson has been ensuring the renewal of the pitch goes to plan.

Pitch renovation work began back in March with the experts at Allgrass turf care kicking off the process by koro-ing the top layer of the surface and beginning the park’s reseeding schedule.

Following a two-week germination process where the pitch was covered, the grass grew quickly and William was able to give the pitch a first cut on April 29 – and it’s been all systems go since then.

William said: “The pitch is looking in great shape and exactly where we’d be hoping it would be at this time of year.

“The sprinklers have been on in the warm weather this week and with regular cuts and maintenance the surface is looking in top condition.”

Work is also continuing off the pitch and behind the scenes to prepare The city Stadium for the Club’s fourth season in the William Hill Championship and further progress updates will be communicated with fans, members and supporters in due course.
