Jay Bird Signs on at Exeter City for the 2025/26 Season
1931 funded Jay Bird has signed on with Exeter City for the 2025/26 season.
Jay Bird signed on for the Grecians in July 2024 and is part funded by the fans 1931 fund. He signed on a free transfer after being released by Arbroath.
During the last season, he played 20 times for Exeter, mainly as a substitute and has scored twice for the Grecians. In February he went on loan to Rochdale in the National League, and helped propel them into a play-off place. Jay Bird will be involved in at least one more game this season for Rochdale as they take on Southend United in a play-off qualifying game.
Jay has played 10 times for Rochdale and scored 5 times.
Exeter manager Gary Caldwell said of Jay Bird:
Jay is someone that has came from part-time football at Arbroath and took time to get going. But in the second-half of the season since he’s been out on loan at Rochdale, he’s really shown his quality there, scored goals there. It’s important he comes back pre-season and shows the gains from that time he spent on loan and shows his desire and hunger to get in our team on a more regular basis.
Jay won the March goal of the month competition for Rochdale
