Man Utd can finally sign 24 G/A winger as Barcelona exit race, €40m deal could be agreed

0 3

Manchester United are likely to make several signings during the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils could target a marquee striker amid their lack of regular goals in the Premier League.

The club could also consider a move for a versatile forward based on manager Ruben Amorim’s requirements.

A recent report claimed that Amorim is keen on a reunion with Francisco Trincao. United have now been handed a boost.

Trincao has a release clause worth €60 million (£50 million) in his contract, but Sporting CP are prepared to provide a discount.

With his contract expiring next year, Sport (page 9) claim that he could be permitted to leave for €40m amid Premier League interest.

Barcelona have a buy-back clause between €21-25m (£17m-£21m) but they have informed that the option won’t be triggered.

The Catalan giants are prepared to capitalise on the 50 percent sell-on clause on Trincao’s contract.

United could reunite Amorim with Trincao this summer

Trincao joined Sporting CP from Barcelona in the summer of 2022, initially on a season-long loan.

The Portuguese was eventually signed for £6m in 2023 and has proved a brilliant acquisition for them.

Amorim played a big role in his progress with the Lisbon giants. The duo could be reunited at Old Trafford.

Trincao can play on either wing or as a second striker. He has been most successful from the right flank, where Amorim used him in his 3-4-3 formation.

The 25-year-old has registered nine goals and 15 assists this campaign. He recently opened his goalscoring account for Portugal in the Nations League.

Trincao came off the bench to score a brace against Denmark to ensure Portugal’s progress to the last four of the competition, where they will face Germany.

Aside from his goal contributions, the former Barcelona man has also impressed with his defensive work.

Trincao has won 5.9 duels per game for Sporting CP this term, with 2.9 recoveries and 1.7 tackles. In our view, he would be a regular starter for the Red Devils.

Amad Diallo has also impressed from the right side of attack when fit. The Ivorian ace could start at right wing-back with Trincao operating in front of him.
