Tottenham are determined to move fast and beat Man United to English winger

Tottenham Hotspur are now looking to step up their interest in one Premier League winger, with the Lilywhites now making efforts to beat Manchester United to the player.

Tottenham’s forward line has not delivered the kind of output Ange Postecoglou would have expected from them this season.

Heung-min Son has looked lacking in sharpness for much of the season while Brennan Johnson continues to be plagued by inconsistently. Meanwhile, Wilson Odobert has had an injury-hit campaign while January signing, Mathys Tel, has not hit the ground running.

Tottenham Hotspur are thus thought to be prioritising bolstering their attack in the summer with a number of reports over recent weeks claiming that Spurs have held talks over a deal for Southampton winger Tyler Dibling.

Tottenham want to beat Manchester United to Tyler Dibling

GiveMeSport have now revealed that Man United are also circling over Dibling, but Spurs are determined to beat the Red Devils to the player.

The report claims that Postecoglou’s men are aware that they will face a lot of competition for the Saints winger and are thus ‘moving fastest ahead of the transfer window’ to secure his services.

It is explained that Southampton demanded £55m for Dibling during the January window but with the South Coast club now looking destined for relegation, the player is keen to embark on a fresh challenge away from the club.

Why Spurs may have an advantage in Dibling race

GiveMeSport make it clear that Rubem Amorim’s men continue to keep an eye on Dibling, and they have a line of communication open with the player’s camp.

However, there are doubts if the Manchester club can compete with the level of financing that Tottenham can offer, given that they have announced expensive plans to redevelop Old Trafford.

As a result, it seems like Spurs are sensing an opportunity to secure to swiftly finalise a deal for the England Under-21 international.
