Tottenham scouts spotted at Europa League clash – Winger target was playing
Tottenham’s scouts were spotted attending a Europa League game in Denmark last week, and one player who was involved in the game has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs over recent months.
Scouting has now become crucial for Tottenham
Under Johan Lange, one of the main tenets of Tottenham’s transfer policy has been to sign upcoming young talent and help them develop into finished products.
That has meant doing your shopping in relatively obscure divisions, such as the deal to sign Lucas Bergvall from the Swedish topflight and Luka Vuskovic from Croatian football.
This approach does not just necessitate a heavy reliance on data but also is scouting intensive, with the club’s talent spotters needing to travel regularly to remote places to run the rule over teenagers.
Tottenham’s scout spotted in Denmark
It now been reported by Tipsbladet that Spurs‘ scouts were spotted in FC Midtjylland’s clash with Fenerbahce last week.
The outlet reveals that the North London club were not the only ones to be in attendance, with officials from the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd also being spotted at the MCH Arena.
The publication does not have any information on who Tottenham were watching but goes on to speculate that it could have either been forward Dario Osorio or midfielder Oliver Sorensen.
What we know about Tottenham’s interest in Dario Osorio
Osorio has developed impressively since leaving Chile to move to Midtjylland last year, with the pacy left-footed winger scoring nine times in 34 appearances for the Danish side.
There were plenty of reports linking Osoria with a move to Spurs just ahead of January, which suggests a strong possibility that the Lilywhites were in Denmark to assess the Chilean.
It was reported that the 21-year-old was seen by those at Hotspur Way as a very good fit for Ange Postecoglou‘s system, and that Tottenham had shown ‘advanced’ interest in the player.
The same report added that Johan Lange had even compiled a detailed dossier on the young winger.
Based on this latest update, it looks like Tottenham are still keeping an eye on Osorio, and we might potentially see the Premier League side reignite their interest in the player again in the summer.
