Alex Cora Still Leaves Door Open For Red Sox Offseason ‘Recruit’

The Boston Red Sox are still probably an impact signing away, likely in the lineup, from embracing their goal of competing for the American League East title in 2025.

The rotation already got a major upgrade with Garrett Crochet and Walker Buehler joining a base of Tanner Houck, Brayan Bello, Lucas Giolito and Kutter Crawford. Aroldis Chapman and Justin Wilson add left-handed production to the bullpen.

Now, it comes down to the lineup for the Red Sox to make a splash. Alex Bregman’s name continues to swirl and Alex Cora’s spent a majority of the winter raving about the infielder that shined during his time as the bench coach of the Houston Astros.

Cora left the door open to another big splash (Bregman?) during a visit with NESN’s Tom Caron and Lou Merloni on the “310 To Left” podcast. The Red Sox manager hinted there’s another player Boston wants to “recruit” on the market. Can the franchise get a deal done?

You can catch the full clip from NESN’s “310 To Left” on YouTube or on Spotify.
