Mikey Moore set for Tottenham return in FA Cup clash with Tamworth
Tottenham Hotspur boss, Ange Postecoglou, has confirmed that Mikey Moore will get a much-awaited chance to once more showcase his skills in the upcoming FA Cup fixture against Tamworth.
Tottenham’s challenge in the FA Cup
Tottenham Hotspur’s season has been a rollercoaster of highs and lows. Their most recent triumph saw them defeat Liverpool, a team often hailed as one of the best in the world.
Just days later, Spurs find themselves preparing for a different challenge, one that could bring an entirely different set of demands.
The team travels to Kettlebrook, where they will face Tamworth – a team currently struggling in 16th place in the National League.
This fixture will give Postecoglou a chance to rotate his squad and potentially rest some of his regular starters after a taxing period.
Mikey Moore is set to get minutes in Tamworth vs Tottenham
The Tottenham boss addressed the press ahead of The Lilywhites’ FA Cup tie, providing clarity on the selection process and the prospects of his young players.
He also went on to confirm that Mikey Moore, who has spent recent weeks sidelined due to injury, will be handed some much-needed minutes in this match.
He told football.london: “No, it gives me an opportunity to pick a team who I think will win a game of football for us. The ones who will play will be the ones who will do that.
“It’s good getting Mikey back and I think it is important we will give him some game time on the weekend but aside from that it will be a time who most importantly we think can get us through to the next round.”
Tottenham’s young prospects eye valuable game time in FA Cup clash
It is refreshing to hear that Mikey Moore is finally back and ready to play. The virus that sidelined him for 62 days kept the youngster out of action for fourteen matches.
He is undoubtedly one of Tottenham’s brightest prospects, and I am sure he will be eager to impress once again on Sunday.
In addition to Moore, there are other young players who could feature in this FA Cup encounter. The likes of Alfie Dorrington and Yang Min-Hyeok could also be handed valuable game time.
This means Sunday’s clash against Tamworth provides fans an opportunity to watch the club’s rising stars.
