Fiorentina take ‘concrete steps’ to sign Tottenham star in January
Fiorentina have stepped up their pursuit of a Tottenham defender, but the club are still waiting to hear back from Spurs about the player’s availability in January.
Radu Dragusin continues to be linked with Serie A return
Dragusin has got regular minutes under his belt of late in light of the injuries that Tottenham have in central defence.
However, this has not stopped the speculation linking him with a return to Serie A, with the likes of Juventus, Inter Milan, and Napoli credited with an interest in the 22-year-old.
Now, another Italian club are thought to have entered the equation, and they are even said to be stepping up their pursuit of the former Genoa man.
Fiorentina have reached out to Spurs about Radu Dragusin
This update comes from TuttoMercatoWeb, who say that Fiorentina want to strengthen their defence and are now plotting a move for Dragusin.
In fact, it is revealed that the Viola have now ‘taken concrete steps’ to land the Romanian international in next month’s transfer window.
The report says that Raffaele Palladino’s men have made contact with Spurs regarding the centre-back but they have not heard back from the Premier League side.
However, the outlet adds that Tottenham’s current injury situation could be an ‘obstacle’ for Fiorentina in landing Dragusin.
What Dragusin’s agent has said about his future
Dragusin’s camp have been clear that the centre-back will not be leaving Tottenham in January.
The defender’s outspoken agent, Florian Manea, has said on a couple of occasions that his client is fully focused on doing well for Tottenham.
Manea said last month: “Now he’s (Dragusin) focused on the rest of the season. He wants to do well with Tottenham. I learned about it from the Italian newspapers, I honestly don’t know anything about it (transfer rumours.)
“With Juventus As far as I’m concerned, there have been no contacts. As always, the final say in these cases will be up to the club he belongs to, but the boy is happy here at Tottenham.”
