NESN’s Cosmina Schulman Named To Cablefax’s 2024 Most Powerful Women List As Women’s Advancement Champion

BOSTON — NESN announced today that Cosmina Schulman, Senior Vice President of Strategic Broadcast and Digital Partnerships, has been named to Cablefax’s 2024 Most Powerful Women list. Cablefax Magazine annually recognizes the industry’s leading women executives for their contributions to their companies and the industry as a whole, while the Women’s Advancement Champion Award is given to one individual who goes above and beyond to mentor, sponsor and nurture industry professionals, giving them support to excel in their careers and reach their full potential.

Schulman was recognized as the Women’s Advancement Champion for her work advancing and externally launching Women of NESN (WON), NESN’s initiative dedicated to championing women’s sports coverage, commentary and storytelling. Since its launch in January 2024, NESN has, in conjunction with WON, streamed multiple female-led broadcasts, launched a women’s sports weekly podcast “Respect Her Game” and broadcasted Boston Fleet’s inaugural season and recently named Bauer as the presenting sponsor of NESN’s 2024-2025 PWHL broadcast coverage. Schulman is a founding member of NESN’s employee resource group for women in sports (also called WON), has served on the board of Women in Sports and Events, and in the process, has mentored dozens of women throughout her career.

“My mission has always been to celebrate and uplift women, ensuring that every woman has the opportunity and support she needs to thrive,” Schulman said . “This award is a reflection of all the women who have broken barriers and helped me in my professional journey. I am deeply honored to be recognized by Cablefax alongside this talented group of women who inspire, challenge and uplift one another every day.”

In addition, seven female NESN employees were recently nominated for the WISE Boston Women of Inspiration Awards, which celebrate women who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, innovation, and dedication in their respective fields. These women were nominated for either the Rising Star Award that honors a female professional in the early stages of her career who embodies the core values of WISE, or the Women to Watch Award, which celebrates a mid-career female professional who has already made significant strides in her field within the sports industry. The nominees include:

  • Emily Langan, Senior Marketing Manager

Rising Star Award Nominations
