Mikey Moore names two Tottenham players who have made him feel at home in the first-team, confessing that it is a dream come true to be playing alongside one Spurs star.

One has to be an exceptional talent to make his senior debut for a club of Tottenham‘s stature at the tender age of 17.

The encouraging thing for Spurs is that Moore has not let the pressures of playing on the big stage affect his natural game, with the winger looking to take on opposition defenders regularly in the opportunities that have come his way.

The teenager certainly appears at home in the senior squad, and he has put that down to the way he has been welcomed into the environment.

Moore star-struck by one Tottenham teammate

The Spurs academy graduate confessed that the likes of Heung-min Son and James Maddison have helped him both on and off the field since he made the step up to the first-team.

The youngster revealed that he was mesmerised during his first interactions with the South Korean, having idolised him since the time he first joined the academy.

Moore told Tottenham’s matchday programme (10/11/24): “All the players have welcomed me. You have to gain their respect first, it’s an environment where there is a lot on the line so you have to earn that, but all the boys have been really good.

“Sonny is helping me all the time and Madders as well, they’re helping me as a player but also off the pitch with keeping grounded and respectful towards everyone.

“When I first came over, I was a bit star-struck! Growing up, Sonny has been an idol of mine ever since I’ve been at the Club and being able to play with him now is a big thing for me.

“Now he helps me and we’re team-mates which is a bit crazy to think but being able to play with him is helping me loads and he’s a great person.”

Spurs setup is an ideal environment for young players

The current senior set-up at Hotspur Way is one where it is comparatively easy for young players to settle in and express themselves.

Not only are there some great lads in the squad who would put an arm around the youngsters, but Postecoglou also takes out the fear of failure, allowing the academy players to showcase their qualities on the pitch.
