Jim Ratcliffe’s telling reaction to Man United 3-0 loss to Liverpool caught on camera - Pics

Manchester United suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool at Old Trafford yesterday in their third Premier League game of 2024-25, and co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe was in the stands to watch the game.

The Red Devils found themselves 2-0 down at half-time before conceding another goal in the second-half, but things could have got worse as the visitors should have scored at least two more goals.

While Liverpool always looked threatening anytime they attacked, Man United never looked like they were going to find the back of the net, with their performance in midfield and at the back also far from impressive.

They spent £206 million on the signings of Manuel Ugarte, Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui during the summer transfer window, with three of them on the pitch last night, but they could not influence the proceedings, and Ratcliffe was caught on camera looking far from pleased with what he was watching.

Man United started the new campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Fulham before losing 2-1 to Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend, and not many were surprised with their performance against Liverpool.

Such a woeful display was a recurrent theme through the majority of last season, and that manager Erik ten Hag could not get his men to put in a solid display at either end of the pitch is no news.

The Dutchman signed a new contract earlier in the summer despite being linked with an exit, but things have not changed and he could be getting the sack sooner or later if Man United keep performing like they did yesterday in the presence of Ratcliffe and others.

The Red Devils return to Premier League action after the September international break with a trip to Southampton on September 14, and they need to get their campaign back on track after back-to-back defeats.
