CLASS OF 2024-25 | MEET JEREMIAH PINDER

0 9

Jeremiah Pinder has been in impressive form during Dartford’s pre-season campaign. Such has been the young midfielder’s performances, that Ady Pennock has promoted him to the First Team for the 2024-25 season.

The 18-year-old is at his best anywhere in the midfield areas, as he intends to bring composure on the ball, a hard work ethic off the ball, as well as a competitive spirit in order to win every game he plays with his teammates.

He has a wonderful ability to help the likes of Denzelle Olopade to protect the Dartford defence, yet also drive forward to help Ben Allen, Olly Box, and Gabe Campbell to create opportunities for Callum Jones, Duane Ofori-Acheampong, and Ashdon Day. Jeremiah also possess a lovely right foot, with which he’s capable of spraying the ball to the wide and forward areas, as well as testing goalkeepers with a thunderous strike.

Jeremiah’s journey began with him playing for Corinthian FC at U18 and U23 level, where he happened to meet Dartford Academy Coach, Ben Greenhalgh. It was Ben who recommended the Academy to him, and Jeremiah hasn’t looked back since…

“The club is a platform for us to express ourselves Chris. It’s also a chance to prove ourselves in front of the Dartford fans every week. It’s more of a family than a club, and I’m forever grateful for the push that I received from the club when coming through the Academy.”

He continues, “The Academy is the perfect place for us to develop our talents. You can see that through how many have been promoted to the First Team. And, I thank all the coaches who are involved in improving us Academy players day in, day out. The Academy has aided me, not only with football, but by encouraging me to go out on loan with Ben at Margate, as well as providing me with valuable First Team opportunities.

“The Dartford First Team is always the goal, especially when we’re coming through the Academy. So, when I heard that Ady wanted me to be involved, I was over the moon.”

How did Jeremiah find out that the Dartford boss wanted him to be a part of his side?

“It was just another training day with the Academy, when Ben informed me that Ady wanted to have a word. That’s when the boss told me that he wanted me to be involved for the coming season. I’m extremely lucky that Ady has shown huge trust in me to show everyone what I’m capable of on the pitch. He also has great expectations with the club to push on, win games, and get back to where we were last season. But, specifically with me, the expectation is to earn my shirt week in, week out, and to perform to help the team to the best of my abilities.”

And, that is all that anyone can ask of this new, young Dartford side. As long as the players put the effort in, nobody can ask more of them. People will see that and get behind the team. Does Jeremiah have any words for the Dartford faithful?

“We are going to take it game by game. But, we’ve got a great group of players and we are ready for the challenge ahead.”
