Lucas Bergvall impresses at Tottenham

Spurs were ecstatic to secure the services of highly-rated young prospect Lucas Bergvall, pipping Barcelona to the Swedish youth international (BBC).

He’s shown versatility and comfortable roaming centrally and out wide, which will suit the Postecoglous’ system to a tea. The early signs are there for Lucas to adapt to the intense English game as he set up Mikey Moore to score and whipped in some teasing crosses. (Squawka)

Postecoglou said “They’ve (Bergvall and Gray) come in really with the right attitude, very humble, but really ambitious and want to make an impact. They’re not here to ease their way in, they want to play and it’s exactly what you want from young guys coming through and they’ve added a good energy to the group.” (Football London)

Alasdair Gold has now revealed the people behind the scenes at Spurs are already excited by Bergvall and Gray, writing for Football London: ‘Ask anyone inside the club about the signings and the feeling is very much that Spurs have grabbed two big players for the now as well as that future.’

Spurs are particularly excited about Archie Gray

Gold revealed that Spurs are particularly excited about the potential of Archie Gray, and the personality he is already bringing to the squad.

Gray apparently speaks and acts like a 28-year-old rather than a fresh-faced teenager, and he has even been spotted going to put the cones away after training, which is not typically to be expected from a £40m new signing.

After the Hearts match, Gray himself said this to the club media: “Obviously I wasn’t expecting to play centre-back but honestly I’m just really grateful for the opportunity to play and learn different positions,”

“I don’t really care where I play. I’m 18-years-old and I need to learn the game. Honestly, anywhere he puts me, I’m just happy to learn the game and have great teammates around me to teach me things about the game. (Football London)

They look like great dressing room personalities that will contribute to the camaraderie that Postecoglou has entrusted to his Spurs captains Heung-min Son, Cristian Romero and James Maddison.
