What Triston Casas ‘Absolutely’ Wants To Try For Red Sox

Triston Casas is no stranger to slugging baseballs out of the park for the Boston Red Sox.

Casas tallied 24 homers in 2023 and had six already in 2024 before a rib injury put his season on hold back in April. The Red Sox hope to have him back soon, though Casas is still around the game.

Casas is finding his own style through recent media opportunities, including hosting TikTok coverage of the Home Run Derby in Texas on Monday that included an interview with teammate Tanner Houck.

Could the Red Sox slugger eventually see himself competing in the All-Star week competition at some point down the road.

“Absolutely” was the response Casas gave to that question on the TikTok stream, per the Boston Herald’s Gabrielle Starr.

There haven’t been many Boston participants in recent memory, though David Ortiz and Adrian Gonzalez both entered the competition in 2011 in Arizona. Ortiz had been the reigning champion from the 2010 derby as the only Red Sox slugger to ever take home that title.

Casas’ eventual return to the field is the priority for Boston, especially for a ballclub that rode into the All-Star break 11 games over. 500 after a series win against the Kansas City Royals. The return of Casas and any deadline additions can have the Red Sox in solid position to make a run.
