Lucas Bergvall reveals what Kulusevski told him about the Spurs project 

Lucas Bergvall has revealed that Dejan Kulusevski told him a lot of positive things about the direction that Tottenham are heading under Ange Postecolgou.

Spurs signed Bergvall in January and loaned him back out to Djurgardens, with the 18-year-old set to link up with Ange Postecoglou’s side in pre-season.

Various reports over the past couple of months have claimed that there is plenty of excitement at the North London club about the midfielder, who is expected to be handed a prominent first-team role (Football Insider).

While the 18-year-old will face a big challenge in adapting to the physicality, intensity and quality of English football, the fact that Kulusevski is at Spurs should make it a little easier for him to settle into his new surroundings.

What did Kulusevski tell Bergvall about Spurs?

The teenager revealed that he has spoken to his compatriot a few times already and that the Tottenham winger was very positive about the direction that the club is heading in.

When asked about Kulusevski, Bergvall told Football.London: “He’s from Brommapojkarna as well. The same club! I’ve met him a few times and he’s a really nice, kind guy. I talked to him and he said he’s there for me if I need to ask him anything.

“He’s had a really great time at Tottenham. He talked a lot about the club and how it’s the beginning of a new era with Ange as the new coach and they’re trying to build something up. They want me in that so he talked just about the club and what they want to achieve in the next few years.”

The last few months have been fairly eventful at Spurs and Bergvall revealed that he has been following the happenings in North London quite closely ahead of his move.

He said: “I’ve been watching a lot of the games. I watched the last game against City. They played really well, but sometimes it’s hard. I saw that he (Postecoglou) was angry and I read it was about Arsenal and all that. I agree with him, I think you should always play to win every game like he said.”

When asked what Spurs fans should expect from him, the Sweden international responded: “A really hard-working guy who wants to take the ball forward and score goals and play for the team and Ange.”

Moving to a new country and joining a big club is a huge challenge at Bergvall’s age but there is no doubt that having Kulu at Spurs is certainly going to make it easier for the youngster to settle into his new surroundings.
