Report: Spurs player who started against Liverpool is looking for new club

Football Insider have claimed that Emerson Royal has already begun looking for a new club after being informed that he is free to leave this summer.

Ange Postecoglou was candid about his plans for the summer, stating last week that a number of players will be let go and replaced with ones who are better suited to his system (Guardian).

Over the past few days, various outlets have named Emerson as one of many players who will be sacrificed by the Lilywhites this summer (The Times).

This has now been backed up by Football Insider, who claim that the right-back has been deemed surplus to requirements by Ange Postecolgou.

In fact, it is alleged that the 25-year-old’s representatives have already begun the process of looking for their client’s next destination after being informed of Spurs’ decision.

The report adds that the Brazilian could be one of the first players out of the door this summer, with Tottenham ready to accept an offer in the region of £20m for the defender.

Emerson has been a key contributor to the squad over the last three years and no one can question his commitment or his attitude. However, he is not a great fit for Ange’s system and it is not surprising to hear that he is one of the first players who will be replaced this summer.
