THURS NIGHT WEEKLY QUICK-PLAY COMPETITION

Congratulations to Euan Murray on his 6th first place finish in this competition on 18 points! This was a tight affair with a couple of players in with a shout of first place. Indeed Euan was playing Graham Mooney who was only 2 points behind, but the time ran out before the game finished so did not count towards the competition! Euan`s last top spot finish was 7 weeks ago on 21/01/21.
Graham did manage to finish runner up on 16 points, the first top 3 finish in 5 weeks! Andy Rowe took third place on 12 points. It`s hard to believe it`s seven weeks since his last top 3 finish on 21/01/21!
The top junior for the second week in a row is Max Whisson J15 on 8 points. In total we had 17 players involved at some point. Ramit Kanodia J13 (900) got a nice surprise bonus against IM Richard Polaczek (2354) in the very last game as Richard was not going to finish off Ramit before the competition time deadline ran out and he would rather the game did end in time to count, he offered the draw! Ramit was gob smacked, but Richard`s view was “Why not! I could not finish the game in time so a fair offer”! I bet that made Ranit`s night! True gentleman!
