The 2025 MLB Trade Deadline is July 31 at 6 p.m. EST. The Mets kicked things off for themselves last week when they acquired lefty reliever Gregory Soto from the Orioles. They continued to improve their bullpen on Wednesday when they acquired submariner Tyler Rogers from the Giants and hard-throwing closer Ryan Helsley from the Cardinals.

12:40 PM – Tigers Adding Pen Help
The Tigers are acquiring closer Kyle Finnegan from the Nationals, per Ken Rosenthal. It’s the third bullpen piece the Tigers have traded for in the last 24 hours; they previously traded for former Mets Rafael Montero and Paul Sewald.
11:25 AM – Welcome to A.J. Preller Day
The Padres have acquired star closer Mason Miller and lefty starter JP Sears from the A’s for one of baseball’s best prospects, SS Leo De Vries. The Padres will also send three right-handed pitchers to the A’s: RHP Braden Nett, RHP Henry Báez and RHP Eduarniel Nuñez.
Multiple reports now say the Padres are willing to move starter Dylan Cease.
9:40 AM – Blue Jays Get Pitching
The Blue Jays are finalizing a trade for former Cy Young winner Shane Bieber from the Guardians, per Jon Morosi of MLB. Morosi reports the Guardians will get pitching prospect Khal Stephen.
9:07 AM – Robert to Padres?
The Padres have emerged as a team to watch for White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr., according to Mark Feinsand of MLB. Feinsand mentions that both the Phillies and Mets remain in the mix for the talented Robert.
