Phillies Injury Updates: Aaron Nola has stress fracture with no timetable for return

- Aaron Nola (stress fracture in right rib)
- Status: 15-day IL
- Aaron Nola’s puzzling stint on the injured list has continued with no clear end in sight. After originally being sidelined with a sprained right ankle in May, Nola now has a stress fracture on the right side of his ribcage, the pitcher clarified on Friday. Phillies manager Rob Thomson initially announced the injury as a stress reaction.
- The veteran right-hander is still experiencing pain when he breathes deeply, moves in certain ways and tries to throw. Therefore, he is shut down from throwing. He’s not sure when he’ll be able to resume throwing activities and is just waiting for the rib to heal. “I don’t really have any answers right now,” Nola said.
- Once Nola returns — whenever that is — he’ll likely require multiple rehab starts in order to get stretched out as a starter. It would be hard to imagine him pitching for the Phillies again in the first half of the season. — Last updated on June 13 by Ty Daubert.

- Status: 10-day injured list
- Harper was placed on the injured list with right wrist inflammation on Saturday, June 7, retroactive to Friday, June 6.
- Harper has been wearing a brace on his injured wrist around Citizens Bank Park. He did some fielding work at first base on Friday afternoon, but he’s still not throwing or swinging a bat. — Last updated on June 13 by Ty Daubert.
- Brandon Marsh (sore left elbow)
- Status: In Friday’s lineup
- Marsh exited Tuesday’s game after hurting his elbow stealing second base. Thomson announced that the outfielder was day-to-day, and he did not play on Wednesday.
