Dominican Republic to open selection camp for WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup on May 23
The Dominican Baseball Federation (FEDOM) will hold a camp on Friday, May 23, and Saturday, May 24, at the IPL Academy in El Toro, Santo Domingo Este, to select the team that will represent the Dominican Republic at the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup 2025 presented by RAXUS.
"It will be an unforgettable experience for 62 kids," commented FEDOM President Juan Núñez.
FEDOM completed the pre-selection during the sixth Robinson Cano Cup.
"There is so much talent that selectiong 62 was not easy and it won't be easy to finalise the World Cup roster," added Núñez.
Erick Then, on behalf of FEDOM, and Valentin Contreras, on behalf of the Dominican Professional League (LIDOM), will oversee the selection process.
The Chinese Taipei Baseball Association (CTBA) will host the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup 25 presented by RAXUS from July 25 to August 3 in Tainan.
World No. 11 Dominican Republic will compete in Group B and face No. 5 USA, No. 6 Korea, No. 8 Panama, No. 15 Czechia and No. 31 South Africa.
Group A includes No. 1 Japan, No. 2 Chinese Taipei, No. 4 Mexico, No. 10 Cuba, No. 12 Australia and No. 17 Germany.
