Mets Release 2025 Spring Training Roster
The Mets announced their 2025 spring training roster on Monday, and while classic mainstays from their 26-man roster, like Francisco Lindor and Juan Soto, were front and center, plenty of fresh faces debuted as non-roster invitees.
Below is the first version of the Mets’ 2025 spring training roster. Notably, Pete Alonso‘s deal hasn’t been finalized, so he does not appear on the roster.
RHP Non-Roster Invitees
- Ty Adcock
- Adbert Alzolay
- Chris Devenski
- Rico Garcia
- Dom Hamel
- Grant Hartwig
- Oliver Ortega
- Yacksel Ríos
- Brandon Sproat (MLB Pipeline No. 46 overall prospect)
- Blade Tidwell

Sproat is the standout of the group and the best prospect in the Mets’ farm system. Between three levels in 2024, the 24-year-old went 7-4 with a 3.40 ERA through just over 116 innings pitched. He struck out 131 batters, allowed only 44 walks, and gave up 44 earned runs (14 home runs). He struggled in his seven starts with Triple-A Syracuse, posting a 7.53 ERA, ballooning his overall 2024 ERA. He pitched to a 2.45 ERA in Binghamton and a 1.07 ERA in Brooklyn.
Alzolay is an intriguing pickup as well. He struggled in 2024 with the Cubs but was lights out in 2023, posting a 2.67 ERA while saving 22 games. If he can reduce his walk rate percentage again (8.0% compared to 5.1% in 2023) and limit the home runs (a whopping 8.0% in just 17 innings compared to 2.0% in 64 innings), the Mets might have struck gold once more.
LHP Non-Roster Invitees
The Mets finally have two reliable lefties in Minter and Young, but Cabrera would be their first line of defense in case of emergency. In 69 games with the Blue Jays in 2024, he pitched to a 3.59 ERA. However, his FIP (5.13) was high, and he’s proven to be streaky at times.
Catcher Non-Roster Invitees
INF Non-Roster Invitees
- Ryan Clifford
- Luis De Los Santos
- Joey Meneses
- Luke Ritter
- Donovan Walton
- Jett Williams (MLB Pipeline No. 58 overall prospect)
After missing most of the 2024 season with a wrist injury, Williams will look for a bounce-back year in 2025. He struggled once he returned in 2024 but saw success once promoted to Triple-A Syracuse at the end of the year, hitting .364/.533/.546/1.079 in six contests. A contender to make his debut sometime in the 2025 season, this spring could be an opportunity for Williams to prove what he’s capable of.
