World Baseball Classic Qualifiers to be played in Taipei and Tucson, media can apply for credentials

Eight teams will compete for the four remaining spots in the World Baseball Classic 2026 in the 2025 Qualifiers, scheduled from February 21 to 25 in Taipei City and from March 2 to 6 in Tucson, Arizona, USA.

World No. 2 Chinese Taipei, No. 16 Nicaragua, No. 31 South Africa, and No. 24 Spain will compete for two spots at the Taipei Dome. No. 23 Brazil, No. 20 China, No. 13 Colombia, and No. 17 Germany will compete for the other two spots at the Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium in Tucson.

Major League Baseball (MLB) announced that all interested media must apply for credentials through the dedicated portal: http://credentials.mlb.com.

Media outlets that have not previously applied online for MLB credentials must contact the MLB Communications Department via e-mail to gain access to the credentialing system. Once in the system, users will need to click on Apply to Events and click on the World Baseball Classic logo to find 2025 WBCQ – Taipei, Taiwan and 2025 WBCQ – Tucson, Arizona.

The application deadlines are February 7 for the Taipei group and February 28 for the Tucson games.

The VI World Baseball Classic is scheduled from March 5 to 17, 2026, in Miami, Houston, San Juan (Puerto Rico) and Tokyo (Japan). The 20 participants will split into five groups. The 16 teams placed in the top four spots of the 2023 edition qualified for 2026.
