Reudis Diaz repeated a season in the Dominican Summer League after going 4-1 despite a high ERA and unspecified role as a 17-year-old rookie in 2023. In 2024 and slipped mostly into the starting rotation, Diaz flourished: microscopic ERA and WHIP, decent workload, poise through the season.

Every player excelling in the DSL needs to be taken with a grain, because it’s not before full-season Kanny before any real numbers or performance can take real root. But Diaz’s improvement from 2023 to 2024 was very real, and his emergence was no mirage. His role in Arizona in 2025 might also be malleable a la 2023, but he’s proven that given the ball and a true spot in the rotation, he can excel.
