Game 3 of the Fall Classic continues on Monday night, this time on the East Coast. The Dodgers hold a 2-0 series lead over the Yankees, and each game has been a thriller. Freddie Freeman sent Dodger Stadium into a frenzy in Game 1, ending the night with a grand slam, the first-ever walk-off slam in World Series history. In Game 2, Yoshinobu Yamamoto threw a one-hit gem; his one blip of the night was a solo home run to Juan Soto.

However, things looked bleak for the Dodgers when Shohei Ohtani exited the game with a partially dislocated shoulder after attempting to steal second base. The Dodgers are optimistic, especially after initial results. It is something to watch as the superstar looks to become a World Series champion in his first postseason action.

The Dodgers lineup hasn’t slowed down, with NLCS MVP and Mets public enemy Tommy Edman collecting extra-base hits in the first two games. It’s Freeman, though, who is leading the offense. He has the most RBIs in the series thus far (five) and the most home runs (two), leading in slugging percentage (1.222).

Meanwhile, the Yankees have struggled to get their offense going at times. They’ve left a combined 17 runners on base in the first two games compared to the Dodgers’ eight and are 2-for-14 with runners in scoring position. The Dodgers are 1-for-11 with runners in scoring position. The long ball has played a key role in the first two games. During the regular season, the Yankees hit the most homers in baseball (237), while the Dodgers hit the third-most (233). Will the homer continue to be the deciding factor?
