South Side, sit down, preferably in air conditioning.
The White Sox welcome the tepid Texas Rangers to landlocked Guaranteed Rate Field tonight after a highly overdue roster move:

Bye-bye, John Brebbia. Your interviews made us think you were down-to-earth, and we wanted to embrace you, but your performance was severely lacking. Heck, we can’t even blame you. It’s hard to bring the heat to a historically frigid season.
The .458 Rangers aren’t bringing spoiler, nor surprise victory, to the AL West division, so the White Sox have a chance to show what Grady’s Boys can do when there’s nothing at stake. Here’s your lineup:

Premature game-abdicator (no? come on) Garrett Crochet is on the mound for the South Siders tonight, ready to give a good four or so innings to the cause. Grady Sizemore announced that Crochet is officially on a limited workload for the rest of the season, so we’ll be seeing a lot of bullpen tonight. What’s the point of going over Crochet’s numbers if he won’t even be out there for more than thirty minutes?
The bad guys are lined up thusly:

Southpaw Andrew Heaney (4-13, 4.04 ERA) is tossing big ones for the defending World Series champs tonight and had eight strikeouts through five scoreless innings in his last start. He should try to stay away from South Slide slugging superstar Andrew Vaughn (eye-roll, eyes are rolling out of my head and onto the desk, how am I even typing right now), but even if he doesn’t, it won’t matter. The White Sox bullpen will determine whether tonight is the 32nd win or the 102nd loss.
