Trying to sell things on Craigslist is maddening!

Within 24 hours I got a bite on the higher priced item and I got excited about the prospect of getting that sale out of the way. "I'm very interested in your XYZ. When can I come and see it?" Their proposal to meet came at 10:30 PM and I responded by 6:30 AM the next day with when I'd be available for the next 7 days. Then nothing. I sent another reply to them 2 days later asking if they were still interested and still nothing. Why do people do that? They don't respond either way or at all. Why initiate a meetup and not follow through? I've had this happen multiple times over the years selling ukes and other items on Craigslist.
