They are who we thought they were. And they’re BAD

In a game that was quite the snoozefest through the early innings, the White Sox proved once again that they are the bad team they’ve shown themselves to be through the first 40+ games of the season.

Not only is this team awful, they grow ever more unlikable with every roster move they make:

Keep on doubling down on the old and bad, White Sox, certainly things will change if you just keep trying ...

Anyways ...

Lets get to the “action” in the doubleheader opener:

I, for one, salute the diehards that paid to watch the following lineup...

After all:

In the top of the first ...

Despite the routine, abysmal outfield defense, Flexen escaped the first unscathed.

In the bottom of the second, Eloy went boom:

It’s 1-0, White Sox, after two.

Joey Meneses led off the fourth with a single to right field, Luis García Jr. singled sharply to center, and the Nats had two on with nobody out. No trouble for Flexen, though, as he struck out Nick Senzel swinging and induced a double-play grounder from Riley Adams to end the threat.

Thus ended the most exciting inning of the game to that point.

Eloy drew a one-out walk in the bottom of the fourth, but Andrew Benintendi grounded into an inning-ending double play.

I mean, seriously Benny, what the shit?

The Nats finally broke through against Flexen in the top of the fifth.

Trey Lipscomb singled, Abrams walked, and Eddie Rosario tied the game with a line drive to center.

One batter later, Meneses singled home two more to make it 3-1, and end Flexen’s afternoon.

It was only a matter of time before the real White Sox showed themselves ...

The South Siders would respond, however, tying the game in the bottom of the frame.

Bryan Ramos singled, Nicky Lopez singled to left, and a Braden Shewmake sacrifice fly plated Ramos to make it 3-2.

One batter later, Tommy Pham tied the game with an RBI single to left to score Lopez.

Great question ...

Filed under Not Good:

My interest in the game rapidly decreased after this news. Which isn’t entirely a bad thing.

And because they are the White Sox, they coughed up the lead in the eighth.

Meneses singled, Senzel walked, and Keibert Ruiz singled to right field to put the Nats up by a run.

Lipscomb singled home Senzel to make it 5-3:

Steven Wilson replaced John Brebbia, but didn’t stop the bleeding as a Victor Robles sacrifice fly to left field scored Ruiz to make it 6-3.

And that’s all she wrote. A pair of singles by Andrew Benintendi and Korey Lee put two on in the bottom of the ninth, but Lopez struck out looking to end the game, 6-3. The White Sox fall to 12-30.

I can’t believe there’s another game to follow. Good luck with that Sox fans, I’m out ...
