[Women's Bowling] SXU Women's Bowling Reaches Semis of Collegiate Shoot-Out

LAS VEGAS – The Saint Xavier University women's bowling team finished in 11th place out of 28 teams at the two-day Glenn Carlson Invite that ended on Monday, December 19 and reached the Semifinals of the two-day Collegiate Shoot-Out on Wednesday, December 21 with the No. 3 seed out of 29 teams. Both tournaments were held at South Point Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. In the Carlson Invite, the Cougars sat in 14th place after day one with and six games with 5,233 pins and moved up to 11th with 8,034 pins on day two but failed to qualify for the Baker Games Tournament. University of St. Francis (Ill.) won the title. Sophomore Monica Darrow (Elgin, Ill./South Elgin) placed 29th for SXU in the individual portion with a total of 1,674 pins in nine games, one more pin than junior Barbara Lunsford (Joliet, Ill./Joliet West).
