[Men's Tennis] Tennis Drops Season Opener

Taking on 4-time NJCAA national champion Rowan College of South Jersey-Gloucester, an inexperienced Williamson squad could not have asked for a tougher opponent for their season opener.  With all six players competing in their first varsity collegiate match, the Mechanics gave it a good shot but in the end were no match for the Roadrunners, as they dropped a 7-0 decision. 

The Mechanics line-up of Brian Stekowicz (SR/Parkside, PA), Colin Weber (SR/Havertown, PA), Dathan Poole (SR/Aston, PA). Justin Minch, Harrison Sorman (FR/Havertown, PA) and Isaiah Joubert (FR/Chester, PA) lost the doubles point to start the match.  They then each lost their singles matches leading to the 7-0 loss.

Despite the loss, head coach Jason Kutzura was positive afterwards.

"It was their first match in college and they were playing a team that had a roster filled with guys who have been playing tennis for a long time.  The guys gave it their best effort.  I'm proud of them.  There is a lot we can learn and work on from the match, moving forward."

The Mechanics are off until April 20 when they take on Penn State Brandywine.
