[Baseball] Early Results Suggest Exciting Finish in Cal Pac Baseball
Three full weeks into the California Pacific Conference schedule and the race for the top spot in the postseason tournament is already getting crowded. Marymount California, which limped into the conference slate with only one non-conference victory, has won eight out of nine Cal Pac games to claim an early lead in the standings. But that lead is all but secure. Just one game back is Antelope Valley, which received votes in the latest NAIA Top 25 poll, sitting on a 7-2 record after dropping two out of three at Benedictine-Mesa last weekend, and Saint Katherine (6-3) is sitting two games behind the Mariners after splitting two doubleheaders with Embry-Riddle. BENU, ERAU, and Park-Gilbert are all three games back with 5-4 records; BENU and Park have each won three straight and ERAU has won both of its last games—giving every indication that the race has only just begun.
