[Women's Basketball] Jaynee Prestegaard named CCAC Player of the Week

CHICAGO --- A near-perfect shooting game not only propelled St. Ambrose University's Jaynee Prestegaard (Amboy, Ill.) to a career-high scoring effort, it also landed the junior forward Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors for the seven-day period ending Jan. 2, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Prestegaard made 12 of her 14 shots from the field and 3-of-4 from the foul line to tie her personal-best scoring mark of 27 points in the Bees' only contest of the week last week, a 68-59 victory over Midland University (Neb.) last Tuesday. She also totaled eight rebounds and two blocked shots.

The win was the ninth straight for St. Ambrose, which is the program's longest since the 2013-14 campaign when the Bees won 20 in a row. SAU has also won 15 of its first 16 games to start off the season and is tied with both Saint Xavier University and University of St. Francis for first-place in the league standings with identical 8-1 marks.
